Digital Radiography (DR), commonly called Digital X-Ray, is an advanced imaging technology that has revolutionised radiology. Unlike traditional film-based X-rays, DR uses digital sensors to capture images directly onto a computer, producing instant, high-clarity results with significantly lower radiation dose than conventional X-rays. At Usmanpura Imaging Centre, our digital X-ray systems examine bones, chest, abdomen, spine, and joints with precision — delivering fast, accurate diagnostic reports for better clinical decisions.
When you visit our centre for an X-ray examination, you can expect a seamless process guided by our experienced radiographers.
Before the test begins, you'll be asked to remove any metal objects, like watches or jewellery, to avoid interference with the imaging process.
Depending on the area to be examined, you may stand against a surface or lie down on a table. Our specialists ensure correct positioning for optimal imaging.
For clearer images, you may be asked to change into a paper gown, which allows better visibility of the targeted body part.
Once positioned, the body part is placed between the X-ray machine and a digital plate. You'll be instructed to remain still for a brief moment while images are captured.
At Usmanpura Imaging Diagnostic Centre, we stand out as a premier provider of radiology services, specialising in X-ray tests.

Yes, Digital X-Ray is safe and uses significantly lower radiation than traditional film X-rays — typically 50-80% less. A chest X-ray involves about 0.1 mSv of radiation, roughly equivalent to 10 days of natural background radiation. It is safe for most patients; pregnant women should inform the technician before the scan as precautions may be taken.

It is often the first-line imaging test for respiratory symptoms before more advanced tests like HRCT are considered.
At Usmanpura Imaging Centre, Digital X-Ray reports are typically available within 15-30 minutes of the scan, often on the same visit. Emergency X-rays (fractures, trauma cases) are prioritised for immediate reporting — usually within 10 minutes. Reports can be collected in person or received digitally via WhatsApp.
Yes. Digital X-Ray is one of the few imaging tests where walk-in patients are fully welcome at Usmanpura Imaging Centre — no prior appointment is needed for most routine examinations. This makes it ideal for urgent cases like suspected fractures or acute chest symptoms. You can also book online for a scheduled time if preferred.
Yes, Digital X-Ray is generally safe for children when clinically necessary — for example, to evaluate suspected fractures after a fall. Our technicians use child-appropriate, low-dose protocols and shielding techniques to minimise radiation exposure. X-rays are only recommended for children when the diagnostic benefit outweighs the minimal radiation risk.
