Trusted diagnostic services with the latest 128-slice CT technology. Rapid, detailed cross-sectional imaging of all abdominal organs for precise clinical decisions.
At Usmanpura Imaging Centre, we offer state-of-the-art CT Abdomen Scan services across Ahmedabad using the latest 128-slice multi-detector CT (MDCT) scanner. This technology captures hundreds of high-resolution cross-sectional images of your entire abdomen in a single breath-hold – often under 10 seconds of actual scanning time.
CT Abdomen is the preferred investigation for abdominal emergencies, cancer staging, trauma assessment, unexplained abdominal pain, and pre-surgical planning. Our experienced radiologists provide detailed reports with precise measurements, delivering same-day results so your doctor can act immediately.
128-slice CT captures the entire abdomen in a single breath-hold, reducing motion blur.
Sub-millimetre slice thickness reveals fine detail in liver, pancreas, kidneys, and bowel.
Senior radiologist-interpreted reports delivered via WhatsApp and email the same day.
128-slice technology covers the entire abdomen from diaphragm to pelvis in one rapid, breath-hold acquisition.
A CT (Computed Tomography) Abdomen Scan is a rapid, advanced imaging procedure that uses X-rays and sophisticated computer algorithms to produce detailed cross-sectional (axial), coronal, and sagittal images of all organs within the abdominal cavity – from the diaphragm down to the hip bones.
Unlike a standard X-ray that produces a single flat image, CT captures hundreds of thin slices through the body simultaneously. Our 128-slice CT scanner acquires images at sub-millimetre resolution, enabling the radiologist to examine every structure in extraordinary detail and reconstruct true 3D images of organs and vessels.
Contrast dye (iodinated contrast) is often administered intravenously to enhance visualization of blood vessels, liver lesions, tumors, and inflammatory changes. A CT Abdomen Scan is the investigation of choice for abdominal emergencies, suspected malignancies, vascular conditions, and trauma assessment.
You lie on a motorized table that slides through the CT scanner ring (gantry)
The X-ray tube and detectors rotate rapidly around you at 128 simultaneous detector rows
You are asked to hold your breath for 5–10 seconds during image acquisition
A computer reconstructs thousands of X-ray measurements into high-resolution cross-sections
Radiologist reviews axial, coronal, sagittal, and 3D reformatted images for diagnosis
Speed of CT makes it ideal for acute abdominal pain, trauma, suspected perforation, and internal bleeding.
CT angiography (CTA) clearly shows aortic aneurysms, mesenteric ischemia, and portal vein thrombosis.
Simultaneously visualizes solid organs, bowel, lymph nodes, and surrounding bony structures in one scan.
Gold standard for staging colorectal, gastric, pancreatic, and renal cell cancers with lymph node mapping.
Detects kidney stones, gallstones, and ureteric calculi with near 100% sensitivity without contrast.
Assesses surgical anastomoses, drain placement, post-op complications, and residual disease.
Our 128-slice CT system provides exceptional organ-level detail across the entire abdomen.
Detects liver cysts, hemangiomas, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), metastases, liver abscess, fatty infiltration, and cirrhosis-related changes with multiphasic contrast enhancement.
Identifies gallstones, acute cholecystitis, gallbladder polyps, cholangiocarcinoma, and biliary duct dilation. CT cholangiography maps biliary anatomy pre-surgery.
Evaluates pancreatitis severity (Balthazar score), pancreatic tumors, cystic lesions, ductal dilation, and vascular invasion for surgical resectability assessment.
Detects renal stones (NCCT for urolithiasis), renal cell carcinoma, hydronephrosis, renal infarcts, and perinephric collections with high accuracy.
Evaluates splenic injury, infarction, lymphoma, adrenal adenomas, adrenal carcinoma, and pheochromocytoma with characteristic imaging patterns.
Assesses bowel obstruction level and cause, appendicitis, diverticulitis, bowel perforation, Crohn's disease complications, and mesenteric adenopathy.
CT aortography detects abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), dissection, mesenteric ischemia, portal vein thrombosis, and pre-surgical vascular mapping.
Identifies lymphadenopathy from lymphoma, metastases, or infection; evaluates retroperitoneal masses, fibrosis, and abdominal wall hernias.
Your doctor may recommend this scan for any of the following symptoms or clinical situations.

Understand why CT is the fastest, most comprehensive investigation for abdominal conditions.
Scans the full abdomen in under 10 seconds, making it the go-to choice for trauma and acute abdominal conditions.
Sub-mm slice thickness reveals fine details in liver, pancreas, kidneys, and vessels invisible on ultrasound or X-ray.
Identifies small tumors, lymph node involvement, and vascular invasion critical for determining treatment strategy.
CT angiography creates precise 3D roadmaps of abdominal vessels, essential for complex surgical planning.
Non-contrast CT detects kidney and ureteric stones with ~99% sensitivity – the gold standard for urolithiasis.
Precise staging, measurement, and characterization of pathology directly guides surgical and oncological decisions.
Follow these instructions carefully for the clearest, most accurate scan results and to ensure your safety.
From the moment you arrive to the time your report is delivered – here's what to expect.
Our front desk team registers your details and verifies your referral and ID. You'll be asked about allergies, kidney function, diabetes medications, and pregnancy status. This typically takes 5–10 minutes and ensures your scan is performed safely and appropriately.
You'll be provided a gown if required. For contrast CT scans, our trained nurse places a small IV cannula (usually in the arm vein) for contrast dye injection. The cannula is thin, and discomfort is minimal. You can ask questions at this point – our team is happy to reassure you.
You'll lie flat on your back on the comfortable, padded CT table with arms typically raised above your head (to reduce artifact). Our technician ensures you are correctly positioned and comfortable. Supportive cushions or straps may be used if needed.
For most abdominal CT scans, iodinated contrast dye is injected rapidly via the IV cannula using an automatic injector. You may feel a warm, flushing sensation throughout your body and a brief metallic taste in your mouth – this is completely normal and passes within 30–60 seconds.
The table smoothly slides through the CT gantry ring. An automated voice will instruct you to "breathe in, breathe out, and hold your breath." The actual scan takes only 5–10 seconds per phase. Multiple phases (pre-contrast, arterial, venous, delayed) may be acquired depending on your clinical indication. You remain fully conscious throughout.
After the scan, the cannula is removed and you can resume normal activities immediately. If contrast was given, we recommend drinking extra water to help flush it from your system. A senior abdominal radiologist analyzes your images and prepares a detailed written report same day – delivered via WhatsApp, email, or in print from any branch.
